Boundaries: How to say no with compassion and confidence
Are you struggling with setting boundaries with your loved ones or even yourself? Setting boundaries are vital to establishing the life we desire. But it isn’t always easy.
If you’re like me, you’ve struggled with the confidence to communicate boundaries or have offended your loved ones by not communicating boundaries in a loving, compassionate way.
In 2017, coach and educator Laurie Healy lost her brother to the battle of addiction. The loss of her brother changed her outlook on the disease and the course of her career. After spending most of her career in sales and marketing, Laurie now provides insight and support for individuals and families with a loved one struggling with substance use challenges and disorders. Laurie helps these individuals and families set boundaries with their loved ones compassionately so they can continue loving and healthily supporting them.
Although your life circumstances may not be as challenging as dealing with substance abuse issues, the same evidence-based practices apply, no matter how big or small the boundaries you need to set. As you’ll hear Laurie share, she uses these same practices with her son, which have come in especially handy while they’ve traveled the country in close quarters in an RV this past year.
So pull up your seat and learn the importance of setting boundaries, creating them, and compassionately communicating them in your relationships and with yourself.
