How to reprioritize Sabbath as a Spiritual Practice in a Hustle Culture

How to reprioritize Sabbath as a spiritual practice in a hustle culture

Sabbath is part of the Ten Commandments, but if I’m honest, in the past, I haven’t been so great about keeping it holy. How about you? I’ve jam-packed the special day with to-dos, spent little of my thoughts on the Lord, except for Church, of course, and finished the day depleted instead of recharged and filled with God’s goodness. Over the past two years, I’ve started to slowly implement and practice a Sabbath day of rest and honor what God put into place thousands of years ago. I’ve become so passionate about it that it’s an instant connection when I find someone more passionate about it than me.

And one of those people is my dear friend, Beth Zustiak. Beth is a recovering workaholic, a business owner, wife, mom, and serial entrepreneur with a desire to say yes to everything, but who found a way off the hamster wheel through a month-long Sabbath six years ago and has continued to practice it weekly ever since.

Beth is a real-life gal who gets what a busy schedule looks and feels like, yet chooses to honor the Sabbath beautifully. In this episode, Beth and I chat about why we should hold on to the Sabbath so preciously, how we can prepare our hearts and ways that you can set yourself up for a successful Sabbath and avoid the temptations calling your name.

So, let the distractions go, and let’s dive into a conversation that might just transform the way you live and view Sabbath.
